Not just another Sunday

Dear Sweet JD,

Well this has been not just another Sunday. If you are around me now then you can see that two girls have joined the household. They were in a Rescue and needed forever homes and you know how much my heart needed to heal from losing you. It has been three long months since we said goodbye.

I hope you have watched me move through my grief, sometimes not too gracefully, but always with love for you. You were so loved by our friends and family Our special friends here on Tripawds were such a help with your diagnosis and surgery and your tragic death. I have met some of them, and hope you were with me to meet their furchildren.

Maya and Serena and I are just getting to know each other and make some of the adjustments necessary to become a family. You and I had worked out our lives over the 10 plus years. We knew just how each other operated, what to expect. But now I am embarking on a new path, with two new loving creatures so desperate for love. I hope you can give me a bit of your spirit help to teach them that peeing on the grass is good and in the flowerbed is not. Help them to know that when I have to leave for work, I will always come back. Help me show them that they can relax, they are home now.

You will never leave my heart and I hope you can help the girls and I to form a strong bond of love and caring.

I miss you my sweet girl.

    JD’s Mom,

I’m so happy for you. I just know that you and your new girls Maya and Serena are going to have a wonderfully magical life together. How special of you to rescue them and give them forever homes. Not just a home but a very special home. Rest assured JD will be there in spirit to guide you and your new pups. I have thought about you so often over these last months and can’t express how happy I am to know you are doing well.

Welcome Maya and Serena. I look so forward to hearing all about your adventures.

JD will always be there, I’m sure, in one way or another, watching over you, and now Maya and Serena. I’m absolutely thrilled that you have TWO new members in your family (and a little jealous, I must admit).

I can’t wait to meet them. What a wonderful way to honor your beloved girl!

Oh that is so beautiful what you wrote to JD and so wonderful that you are opening your heart to two more in need. I know what you mean when you say that you and JD worked out your lives over the 10 years + you were together. It’s just hard to explain but you become so insync and so one. That’s something I know I will miss very much when Mackenzie’s time comes.
Now back to Maya and Serena…you will have to post pictures! Congratulations on your new addition to your family! We can’t wait to meet them! Just wonderful news! 🙂

I wish I could’ve met JD. i think about that alot when we get together. I think you are doing an amazing and wonderful thing giving homes to pups in need.
I know all my dogs know that is something I will do too, for the rest of my life. I think it is like loving your family. You don’t love each member of your family in exactly the same way, but you do love every one of them. I think loving dogs is like that. You love them all, differently, but very very much.
I am sure you will find a great comfort in getting to know each other and building your worlds together. I look forward to many getting to know you stories! Sammy says he approves too, his brother and sister were rescues 🙂

OH! It’s not just another Sunday – It’s a grand Sunday!

Welcome Maya and Serena! You got some big paws to fill but I bet you’ll have fun doing it!

Tips to Maya and Serena from your new pal, Cometdog:

Treats are for begging for! And beg for the good stuff!

Start off on the right track like I did and get peanut butter cookies on the weekdays and donuts on Saturday nights! Pretty soon, you’re mom will be so excited that you know the difference between the two words, “cookies” and “donuts”, that she’ll buy them to show everyone that you know what the difference is! It’s a great trick I learned!

Also, asked for your bed to be fluffed every night like I do. It gets you an extra hug and kiss. Here’s what I do: I lay beside my bed until mommy comes over and fluffs it for me. (it gets the night before cooties out) As soon as it’s fluffed, I jump in it and get comfy and then she’ll give me an extra kiss goodnight!

I’ll have some more tips for you later! But start with those!

Deborah, I knew when the time was right you would make the decision to add once again to your family. I have not had the chance yet to meet Serena & Maya, but that will happen on my next visit to your home.
JD will always have a special place in all our hearts. Serena & Maya are so fortunate you have taken them into your warm heart and your loving home.
    Love you.
    Love and Sunshine,
    Nana Teddi 🙂
